Ariel’s Grotto | Disneyland

Ariel’s Grotto was a former attraction and restaurant at Disney California Adventure Park, which is adjacent to Disneyland in Anaheim, California. The attraction opened in 2001 and was located in the Paradise Pier area of the park.

Ariel’s Grotto was themed around the character of Ariel from Disney’s animated film “The Little Mermaid.” The attraction featured a meet-and-greet area where guests could take photos with Ariel and other characters from the film, as well as a restaurant that served a variety of seafood dishes.

The restaurant was designed to look like an underwater grotto and featured a large aquarium with colorful fish and other sea creatures. The menu included a variety of seafood dishes, as well as vegetarian and gluten-free options.

In 2018, Ariel’s Grotto closed to make way for a new attraction, “The Incredicoaster,” which is a roller coaster themed around the characters from the Pixar film “The Incredibles.” The restaurant space was also repurposed and now houses a new restaurant, the “Lamplight Lounge,” which serves California-inspired cuisine and craft cocktails.

While Ariel’s Grotto is no longer at Disney California Adventure Park, the character of Ariel can still be found in other attractions and shows throughout the park, including “The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure” and “Frozen – Live at the Hyperion.”
